Four Barrels single malt whisky was distilled using the highest grade barley and the purest water from the Southern Tasmanian Highlands. The barrels were originally used to mature port and are made from French oak. Ageing took place within the walls of original sandstone buildings of a now infamous Bothwell Estate.
The 4 barrels are numbered 1733, 1734, 1735 & 1736.
Barrel 1736 is old gold in colour with aromas of stone fruits, it is very smooth on the palate with hints of maple syrup and butterscotch. Enjoy this fine whisky as it is or with a few drops of water.
Barrel 1944 has now joined the stable. It has the same old gold colour and aromas of stone fruits. It has hints of figs and raisins and a nice warmth on the palate due to its slightly higher ABV.
Barrel 1733 is a sherry cask and is the last of our cellaring. With 2 versions available, a very limited bottling of cask strength for those who prefer it and a standard lower level ABV. Deep gold in colour with aromas of cherries, hazelnuts and rhubarb.
